How ArialPhone Works
ArialPhone
system is comprised of an Earset, Base Station, and software. The system
utilizes 900 MHz DSS wireless and advanced voice recognition technology to
totally automate the call making and receiving process.
The ArialPhone Earset communicates to the Base Station, which attaches to the
user's personal computer through a standard USB cable and port, and to a
telephone line through a standard analog phone jack.
The Earset
has no screen, keyboard, or dial pad but instead is set up to accept wiring
for a wide variety of external switches, with a 1/8 inch mini-phono connector, that alerts the computer of an imminent
voice command from the user. The ArialPhone can interact with a number of
interchangeable switches that give access to the answer, hold and hang up
functions of the ArialPhone, these include pillow
switches, sensitive switches, soft switches and strong switches. Available
external switches can be viewed at Tash
(www.taxhinc.com) ***The standard ArialPhone will work if the person's
disability does not limit their ability to press the action button.
The voice
recognition capabilities of ArialPhone enable the user to access the PC and
control productivity functions such as voice dialing by name or telephone
number. The ArialPhone software accesses and utilizes the names and telephone
numbers in the user's contact directory through a dynamic interface to
Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express, and ACT! contact
management software.
The ArialPhone also offers software that
turns the telephone communications device into a wearable, wireless
microphone for the PC.
Designed for any PC application that accepts microphone input, the software
makes ArialPhone a sleek tool that can be used for Internet calling,
dictation, and speech recognition software, such as Dragon Systems' Naturally Speaking and
IBM's Via Voice.
